Marlins re-sign veteran Greg Dobbs

The Miami Marlins have signed utility man Greg Dobbs to a two-year deal worth $3 million, according to MLB.com. Dobbs was with the team last season, but became a free agent at season’s end.
Dobbs, 33, can play either corner infield position. He saw most of his time last season at third base, but with the acquisition of Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez’ subsequent move to third, Dobbs will likely be a backup.
A solid left-handed bat, Dobbs hit .275/.311/.389 last season with eight home runs and 49 RBI for the hapless Marlins in 2011.
