Football commentator Brian Billick interviewed for the Eagles head coaching job on Monday, according to a series of tweets from Comcast Sports Net Philly’s Reuben Frank.

According to Frank, Billick interviewed for the job this past Monday and is considered to be among the leading candidates to replace Andy Reid in the city of brotherly love. Billick has not coached in the NFL since 2007, when he was fired as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Billick won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2000. He currently works as a color commentator for FOX Sports’ NFL coverage, alongside play-by-play man Tom Brennaman.

Former Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick thinks that he would be a good fit for the now vacant Miami Dolphins coaching position, according to the Miami Herald.

“The Dolphins are a marquee franchise,” Billick told the paper. “But at the end of the day, it’s the structure of what they put together.

“It has to be a partnership between the head coach, general manager and ownership with a very specific vision. The Dolphins are probably a long way from formulating their plans.”

Billick, 57, posted an 80-64 record in his nine-year stint as the head coach of the Ravens, and helped the club claim its first-ever Super Bowl in 2000. In total he achieved five winning seasons, four playoff appearances, and a 5-3 postseason record.

Billick was let go by the Ravens after a 5-11 season in 2007.
