The Associated Press released its All-America team on Tuesday, and the results weighed heavily towards the Crimson Tide. Four Alabama players made the cut; no other school had more than one player selected to the team. Among the four Alabama players was senior center Barrett Jones who made the first team for the second time. He was joined by Alabama guard Chance Warmack, linebacker C.J. Mosley and cornerback Dee Milliner.

Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel became the first freshman to make the team at quarterback shortly after becoming the first freshman to win the Heisman trophy on Saturday. Collin Klein, a Heisman finalist from Kansas State, was the second-team quarterback. The other finalist, linebacker Manti Te’o, also made the team and was Notre Dame’s first defensive player to make the team in 10 years when defensive back Shane Walton did so in 2002.

A panel of 16 AP college football poll voters selected the team.
