Xavier and Cincinnati fought last season. This year, they’ll play on a neutral court.

A year after a late-game fight between rivals Cincinnati and Xavier led to multiple suspensions, the two sides will meet on a neutral court, according to a report by the Cincinnati Enquirer‘s Bill Koch.

The game will be held in U.S. Bank Arena in mid-December and broadcast on ESPN, Koch reported.

After last season’s brawl, the schools agreed to move the game to a neutral court for two years and then reevaluate the situation.

In the immediate aftermath, the brawl had different effects on each team. Each team suspended four players for their involvement in the fight. Both teams recovered to reach the Sweet 16.

There will be no criminal charges stemming from the now infamous game-ending brawl between the University of Cincinnati and Xavier, according to the Associated Press.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deter told the AP that he decided not to file any charges after a brief investigation. Deter says that he reviewed films of the incident and held interviews with coaches, players, and witnesses.

Four players have been suspended by both Cincinnati and Xavier for their involvement in the melee. The longest suspension, six games, was doled out to Cincinnati’s Yancy Gates, for bloodying a Xavier player with a punch to the face.

The game was ended by referees at the 9.4 second mark in the second half; Xavier won the heated game 76-53 on their home court. Team officials and coaches have expressed their apologies for the brawl.
