Pennsylvania Governor Orders Flags At Half-Staff For Joe Paterno

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has ordered the state’s flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of longtime Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno, according to the Associated Press. The flags will remain at half-staff until Paterno’s burial.
Paterno, 85, passed away Sunday after battling lung cancer. His death has been received with an outpouring of tributes and remembrances that have honored his contributions to college football.
Paterno holds the record for NCAA Division I victories by a coach, 409, and is the only FBS coach to reach 400 victories over the course of a career. He led the Nittany Lions to 37 bowl games with 24 wins, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007.
