Cleveland Browns DT Phil Taylor Undergoes Surgery On Torn Chest Muscle

Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Phil Taylor underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn chest muscle, according to the Associated Press.

Taylor injured his chest lifting weights at the team’s facility last week.

A 2012-13 return was not ruled out, but he will need “months” to recover, Brown general manager Pat Shurmur told the AP.

    Phil Taylor, a 2011 first-round pick for the Cleveland Browns, injured his chest Thursday lifting weights at the team’s facility, according to ESPN.com. Taylor is scheduled to have an MRI Friday.

    The Browns announced Thursday that Taylor injured his left pectoral muscle but released no further details.

    Taylor will also be evaluated Monday to determine the course of action in his recovery.
