Faith Hill is out, Carrie Underwood is in when it comes to Sunday night football viewing.

NBC has selected Underwood, the six-time Grammy Award winner and season four American Idol champion, to sing the Sunday Night Football opening theme, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” when the Cowboys host the Giants on Sept. 8.

Hill performed the opening theme from 2007-2012.

“I am thrilled to be a part of NBC’s Sunday Night Football and am so honored they asked me,” Underwood said in a press release. “I have always loved football season, and it is so exciting to now become part of it every Sunday night!”

SNF executive producer Fred Gaudelli said Underwood was the show’s one and only choice to sing the theme after Hill.

Underwood sang the National Anthem prior to Super Bowl XLIV in 2010.

For the first time ever, the Super Bowl will be streamed online and accessible via mobile device, the Associated Press reports.

The NFL announced today that all postseason games broadcast by NBC, including wild card Saturday, the Pro Bowl, and the Super Bowl will be streamed through NBC.com and on Verizon’s NFL Mobile application. Viewers who tune-in online will have access to additional camera angels and live stats, according to the Associated Press.

Last year the Super bowl attracted 111 million viewers, which made it the most viewed broadcast on television.

NBC has been broadcasting games online since the 2008 season.
