Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark has been added to the 2012 Pro Bowl according to the Steelers’ official Twitter account.

Clark will be replacing Baltimore Ravens Ed Reed who will miss the game due to an injury.  In 2011, Clark totaled 100 tackles, one sack, and one interception.

The 32-year-old safety was forced to watch from the sidelines as the Steelers were eliminated by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the playoffs this season. Clark suffers from a rare blood disorder that makes it difficult for him to play at high altitudes. The game was held at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.

Along with Clark, six other Steelers were selected for the Pro Bowl including Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Mike Wallace, center Maurkice Pouncey (missing the game with an injury), safety Troy Polamalu (missing the game with an injury),  kick returner Antonio Brown and linebacker James Harrison.

Pittsburgh Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey will not play in the club’s opening playoff game against the Denver Broncos, according to ProFootballTalk.

The center has reportedly suffered a setback with an ankle injury during practice this week. The injury had forced him to miss two out of the final three games of the season for Pittsburgh. Doug Legursky will likely move to center to fill in for Pouncy, ProFootballTalk reports.

Pouncey, 22, wasnamed to the Pro Bowl in 2010 and 2011, and was selected as an All Pro in 2010.

The Steelers have a myriad of injuries entering the playoffs. Most notably they will be without starting running back Rashard Mendenhall, who has a season-ending knee injury, and safety Ryan Clark will miss the game due to a blood disorder. Starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is expected to play this weekend, however he has been playing through an ankle injury for the past several weeks.
