LeSean McCoy is being sued by a woman who claims the Eagles running back and his body guard humiliated and assaulted her on a party bus, according to TMZ.

The plaintiff, who filed the suit under the name “Mary Roe,” alleges on Dec. 18, 2012, she was among 16 women invited by McCoy’s publicist to a party at a New York City nightclub, with transportation from Philadelphia on a party bus.

The lawsuit alleges McCoy, his bodyguard Big John and other men in the bus began to spray some of the women with water.

Roe claims she protested the water spraying, after which McCoy ordered Big John to “get her.” She claims McCoy and/or Big John hit her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. That’s where the men allegedly restrained her and poured a beverage over her hair, body and clothes.

She claims her protests led McCoy and Big John to forcibly eject her from the party bus on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike. When other women complained, she was allowed back on the bus until she could be left at the nearest rest stop.

The plaintiff is seeking damages of more than $50,000 for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence.

“The allegations against LeSean McCoy are completely, unequivocally false,” a rep for LeSean McCoy said in a statement. “There are no criminal charges pending and no probable cause was ever found. This is sadly an attempt to extract money and LeSean will vigorously defend any attempt to collect money through a personal injury claim.”

After sitting out the past four games due to a concussion, LeSean McCoy will be starting at running back Sunday against the Redskins.

Rookie Bryce Brown filled in for McCoy, doing well in his first two starts with 347 yards and four touchdowns. His next two games were less impressive, with just 40 yards. Brown also fumbled four times in four games. Coach Andy Reid said Brown will rotate in with McCoy on Sunday.

The 4-10 Eagles will need McCoy to help upset the 8-6 Redskins, who are currently in a three-way tie for first in the NFC East.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ hard-fought win against the New York Giants in Week 4 didn’t come without a few injuries. Michael Vick, LeSean McCoy and Nnamdi Asomugha each suffered an injury but they practiced on Wednesday and are ready to go for Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh against the Steelers, according to NBCSports.

Vick had suffered a late game knee contusion in their win against the Giants and his status prior to Wednesday was uncertain for the Steelers game, as Vick said he simply hoped to be able to play in that game. Head Coach Andy Reid reportedly didn’t seem worried about the injury, as Vick practiced with the team on Wednesday and is expected to play against the Steelers. Following their win against the Giants, Reid confirmed that McCoy had tweaked his knee but it appears that he’s fine now that he’s back at practice. Asomugha was poked in the eye but he is also expected to play against the Steelers.

The Eagles might also see the return of King Dunlap, the teams left tackle who suffered a hamstring injury in a Week 2 win against the Baltimore Ravens. Reid said that although Dunlap is now healthy enough to play, he might still keep Demetress Bell in the starting lineup, according to a report on Wednesday from Jeff McClane of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

“I’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Reid said before practice. “But I’m  glad to have King back. I just want to see how he’s doing.”

The war of words between Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora just won’t quit.

McCoy called Umenyiora “a ballerina in a Giants uniform” on ESPN’s E:60  Tuesday night after Umenyiora sent this tweet in early May to McCoy: “Happy Mothers Day Lesean Mccoy! Enjoy your special day!!”

“Yeah this is for real — like I don’t like Osi,” McCoy said on ESPN, according to the New York Post.  ”I don’t know how he feels. He might think it’s a game, but I don’t play them type of games. So every time on the field, I would say stuff to him like, ‘You is a bum … You are the third-best defensive lineman on the defense.’ Which I didn’t lie. Wait, I did lie. He’s the fourth now, so I actually did lie.”

Umenyiora didn’t exactly disagree with McCoy and appeared to take the high road this time. The two will get a chance to further the animosity as the Giants play at Philadelphia on Sunday night.

“I might be a ballerina in a Giants uniform,” Umenyiora said. “I’m lucky to be playing 10 years in the league, to have won two Super Bowls. All that is pure luck and I’m happy for him, I’m happy he got his contract and I’m happy everything is working out well for him in Philadelphia.”

  • LeSean McCoy claims replacement ref told him ‘I need you for my fantasy’ during game

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy claims a replacement ref approached him during a game and said, “McCoy, come on, I need you for my fantasy,’ furthering a widely-held belief that the lockout between the NFL and its officials is killing the season.

According to a report Tuesday morning from Stephen Douglas of Big Lead Sports, citing comments that McCoy made as a guest this week on the 94WIP Players Lounge, McCoy said that he got the impression that the refs on the field this season are no different from the fans in the stands. The ref had been telling him about his NFL fantasy team before he made that specific comment to McCoy:

“They’re like fans, kind of though,” McCoy said. “I’ll be honest, they’re like fans. One of the refs was talking about his fantasy team, like ‘McCoy, come on, I need you for my fantasy,’ ahhh, what?!”

McCoy also revealed that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis intimidated a ref this season to the point where the official had trouble speaking:

“During the game, they made like a bad call or something, the ref, and I see Ray Lewis like pump his chest up, trying to scare him,” LeSean McCoy told 94WIP’s Anthony Gargano and Ike Reese on the 94WIP Player’s Lounge on Monday. “Don’t you know [the ref] started stuttering? I’m like ‘what’s this?!’”

After a Week 1 start in which the referees seemed to defy expectations from the public and league executives, the replacements have now become the subject of much criticism in Week 2. The league issued a memo to its coaches this week warning them not to bully the replacement refs. The NFL was notified early Sunday morning that a replacement ref scheduled to officiate the New Orleans Saints-Carolina Panthers game later that day had posted pictures to Facebook showing him in Saints gear while tailgating at a Saints preseason game in August. The NFL subsequently notified the ref Sunday morning that he will not officiate that game.

  • LeSean McCoy, Eagles Agree To Five-Year Contract Extension

    Enlarge fontEnlarge font

The Philadelphia Eagles’ contract struggle with LeSean McCoy is over — the 23-year-old running back has agreed to a five-year contract extension, the team just announced.

McCoy had a stellar third season in Philadelphia last year, running for 1,309 yards and an NFL-best 17 touchdowns. His contract negotiations with the Eagles were long and arduous this spring, and a lengthy holdout was seen as a possibility, but now it appears McCoy and the Eagles are locked in long-term.

McCoy was the Eagles’ second-round draft pick out of the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. He’s rushed for 3,026 yards and 28 touchdowns in his three-year career to date.

  • DeSean Jackson To Teammate LeSean McCoy: Don’t Hold Out

    Enlarge fontEnlarge font

The Philadelphia Eagles are in the midst of compiling their roster, and they’ve had a successful offseason, minus one key cog: running back LeSean McCoy.

Indications are that McCoy and the team are having productive talks, and last year’s holdout, DeSean Jackson, thinks it would behoove McCoy to re-sign.

“I think it would be in his best interest to come” Jackson said, according to NFL.com. “Looking back now it really hurt me more than I thought it helped me. Hopefully he saw everything I went through, and hopefully Drew won’t have him go through the same thing. . . . I just hope he doesn’t take it there with the team because the Eagles are a team you don’t want to try force anything with them or strong-arm them.”

McCoy finished last season with 1309 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

  • LeSean McCoy Listed As Questionable For Thursday

    Enlarge fontEnlarge font

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy has been listed as questionable for this Thursday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

McCoy has reportedly been bothered by a sprained toe. Last week in a 20-38 loss to the New England Patriots, the star running back was only given 10 carries and collected 31 yards.

Through 11 games this season McCoy has rushed for 1050 yards and 11 touchdowns, while also collecting 38 receptions for 228 yards. He currently leads the NFL in rushing yards and is tied with Adrian Peterson for first in rushing touchdowns.

Last season the 23-year-old ran for 1080 yards and seven touchdowns for the Eagles. In 42 career games he has averaged 4.9 yards per carry.
