The Chicago Bulls traded shooting guard Kyle Korver to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and the deal will be complete pending a physical passed by Korver, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Also discussed in the deal is a possible sign-and trade-deal with guard Kirk Hinrich. The Hawks recently showed interest in Korver after receiving a traded player exception in the Joe Johnson deal to the Brooklyn Nets.

Korver, 31, is a 10-year veteran who averaged eight points and two rebounds last season. He is one of the league’s top three-point shooters, having shot 40 percent or better each of the past four seasons.

The Chicago Bulls are expected to “re-engage” the Atlanta Hawks about taking Kyle Korver via trade, according to K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls had originally hoped to ship Korver to Minnesota, with the Wolves then use the sharp-shooter to bait the Portland Trail Blazers into taking Korver and two first-round picks in exchange for the Blazers’ highly coveted restricted free agent Nicolas Batum.

But with Batum likely either staying in Portland or heading to the Wolves, the latter of which Batum’s agent said his client prefers, the Bulls are now looking to resume conversations with the Hawks about a trade centered around Korver:

The Bulls are expected to re-engage the Atlanta Hawks in trade talks. The Hawks had shown interest in Korver after receiving a traded player exception in the Joe Johnson deal to New Jersey.

Korver made $5 million last season with the Bulls. Despite averaging only 8.1 points in 22 minutes per game last season, he is still widely regarded as one of the better three-point shooters in the league.

The Chicago Bulls are looking to trade sharp-shooting guard Kyle Korver, possibly to the Atlanta Hawks or Minnesota Timberwolves, according to multiple reports.

The Chicago Tribune‘s K.C. Johnson reports that the Bulls would save money by trading Korver.

The Chicago Sun-Times‘ Neil Hayes also reported that the Bulls were looking to potentially deal Korver, with Atlanta or Minnesota as the most likely trade destinations.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution‘s Michael Cunningham reported on Twitter that it appeared likely Korver would end up in Minnesota.

The Bulls have until Sunday to exercise Korver’s $5 million option for next season. The team has already agreed to terms with Kirk Hinrich, who could fill Korver’s role as a shooter off the bench.

The Bulls also may be looking to match the Houston Rockets’ offer sheet to center Omer Asik. The salary cap ramifications of the backloaded three-year, $25 million offer to Asik could play into Chicago’s decisions about other role players.
