IndyCar Driver Dan Wheldon Memorialized By Danica Patrick, Wynnona Judd





The funeral for IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon was held today, six days after the two-time Indianapolis 500 winner died in a catastrophic multi-car accident at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The memorial service for the well-liked Wheldon was attended by hundreds, according to an Associated Press story on USAToday.com, including fellow drivers Dario Franchitti and Tony Kanaan, who served as pallbearers, and country music superstar Wynnona Judd, who sang two songs.
Danica Patrick, formerly of IndyCar and currently racing with NASCAR, attended the memorial and shared a a picture and a thought on Twitter.

Wheldon leaves behind two sons and a wife, Susie, and the AP described the reading of a letter from Susie Wheldon as a “heart-wrenching” segment of the funeral.
Another memorial is scheduled for Sunday in Indianapolis.
