Larry Bird’s son was arrested Sunday and faces multiples charges after allegedly trying to hit his ex-girlfriend with a car in a parking lot, according to a report Tuesday from Bill McLeery of The Indianapolis Star.

Connor Bird, 21, faces a number of preliminary charges, including battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana. According to police, Bird threw a cell phone at his ex-girlfriend while in the middle of a dispute at his apartment. He then waited outside of her apartment later that day and took her to a parking lot to “try to talk things over,” according to the report, but she got out of the car to go back home and then he tried to hit her with the vehicle while he was behind the wheel, according to an eye-witness account from a student at Indiana University. According to a report from The Associated Press, IU police arrested Bird after tracking down his vehicle.

Bird bonded out of Monroe County Jail and his attorney said that it is their hope that things will be fixed in a timely manner, adding that they are thankful no one was seriously injured in the incident.

“This is a very private matter that we’re going to try to resolve quickly. We’re thankful that no one was seriously injured.”

New Orleans Hornet star Eric Gordon’s eighth grade brother, Eron Gordon, has received an offer from Indiana’s head coach Tom Crean over the weekend, according to CBS Sports.

“I don’t pay too much mind to [expectations],” Gordon told the Indianapolis Star. “I just play as hard as I can and hope I can be even better.”

Eron Gordon plays with the U-15 Eric Gordon Central Stars on the AAU circuit, and attends Westlane Middle School. He plans to follow in his brother’s footsteps and attend North Central High School.

Gordon plans to take an unofficial visit to Purdue this weekend, and will most likely receive an offer from the Boilermakers.
