Golden State Warriors forward David Lee will have surgery tomorrow to repair a torn abdominal muscle, according to the Associated Press.

Lee had missed seven straight games since an April 13 MRI revealed a strained groin and stress reaction. The team decided today that he needed surgery; the operation will be performed in Philadelphia tomorrow by Dr. William Meyers.

Shockingly, Lee is the third Golden State starter to go under the knife in a single week — Stephen Curry and Andrew Bogut are both having arthroscopic surgery on their ankles this week.

Lee was averaging 20.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in his second season with the Warriors.

The Warriors are 23-42 on the season, locked into a 13th-place finish in the Western Conference. They wrap up their season tomorrow night against the San Antonio Spurs.
