Holgorsen led the Mountaineers to a 10-3 record in his first season as coach. A former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator, Holgorsen now leads West Virginia into its first season in the Big 12.
Expectations are high for the Mountaineers this year. They were picked to finish second in the league and ranked No. 11 in the initial USA Today poll. Quarterback Geno Smith was also pegged the conference’s preseason offensive player of the year.
