The college basketball season isn’t over yet, but the coaching carousel is already in motion — three weeks after being fired from Tulsa, coach Doug Wojcik has found a new job at the College of Charleston, according to Andy Katz of ESPN. He will be officially introduced on Wednesday.
Wojcik was fired after seven seasons at Tulsa on March 11. He led the Golden Hurricane to a 17-14 overall record, 10-6 in Conference USA, but missed the NCAA Tournament for the sixth year in a row.
In Charleston, Wojcik replaces the retiring Bobby Cremins. Cremins coached the Charleston squad for six seasons; they went 19-12 this past season, 10-8 in the Southern Conference. Cremins made three postseason appearances, but no NCAA Tournament berths.
Wojcik, who will receive a five-year contract in Charleston, has already been replaced at Tulsa by Kansas Jayhawks legend Danny Manning.
