CBS Sports reports the Broward County sheriff’s office has confirmed its issue of a warrant for Chad Johnson’s arrest.

TMZ.com first reported the former NFL wide receiver was wanted for allegedly violating his probation by not visiting his probation officer. Johnson was given probation and ordered to attend counseling as part of a plea bargain following a domestic violence incident with then-wife Evelyn Lozada last August.

Lozada accused Johnson of head-butting her during an altercation in a vehicle. The Dolphins released him after his arrest and he has not be signed by another team. The receiver who once legally changed his name to “Chad Ochocinco” and back was one of sports’ most colorful personas during his 11-year NFL career that began with the Bengals and included a stop with the Patriots.

Johnson wrote, “Chilly in Pasadena” on his Twitter account Thursday, which, if true, puts him outside the Broward County jurisdiction for the time being.

Former NFL star wide receiver Chad Johnson’s sex tape video has been removed from the Internet by two websites following a cease and desist letter, according to a TMZ report.

Sources told TMZ Johnson’s attorneys claimed the websites had no right to post the videos because the tape was stolen.

Johnson previously reported contacting the FBI with his belief that the tape was hacked from his phone.

Johnson has admitted that the male in the video — engaging in sexual activities with two females — was indeed him, and that the tape was recorded approximately three years ago in a Florida hotel.

Johnson, who was cut by the Dolphins during training camp this year, last played for the Patriots in 2011.

Chad Johnson has contacted the FBI regarding a leaked sex tape that features the former NFL wide receiver, according to TMZ.com.

Johnson has reportedly asked the FBI to hunt down the person that leaked the video, and asked his lawyer to put together a cease-and-desist letter to remove the footage from the internet.

Segments of the tape hit the web on Tuesday, when Johnson admitted to TMZ that it was him in the video. He reportedly insisted that he did not want the footage, which he says was shot about three years ago, to go public and is “furious” about its release.

The charismatic former wide receiver, whose career 766 receptions and 11,059 receiving yards are 30th and 28th all-time, respectively, has continued to make headlines despite not playing a down in the NFL this season. He was cut by the Miami Dolphins during training camp following an arrest.

The New York Daily News‘ Ethan Sacks provided details on Johnson’s off-the-field troubles this year.

It’s been a tough stretch for the artist formerly known as Ochocinco. The 34-year-old athlete-turned-reality-TV-star fumbled his short-lived marriage to Evelyn Lozada after being arrested and charged with headbutting his new bride in the head.

The Aug. 11 fight — reportedly over a receipt for condoms she found in the trunk of their car — cost him his marriage, his VH1 reality show, “Ev and Ocho,” and his position on the Miami Dolphins.

Former Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson’s week continues in a free fall, this time losing an endorsement deal with Zico brand coconut water, reports ESPN.com.

The deal was announced on July 25.

“The Zico brand is about supporting naturally powered athletes,” the company said in a statement. “We partnered with Chad Johnson because of our great respect for what he has achieved on the playing field. However, in light of recent events involving Mr. Johnson, we have decided to terminate our relationship. The values we espouse, through our employees, our customers and our brand, are central to our mission. We have taken this proactive step to demonstrate just how important those values are.”

Johnson was arrested Saturday night for allegedly head-butting his wife, the Dolphins released him the next day and his wife filed for divorce on Tuesday.  As of today, Johnson still has a deal with shoemaker Reebok even though he is not on an NFL roster.

Other Zico brand athletes include Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett, gold medal-winning decathlete Bryan Clay and professional surfer Bethany Hamilton.

It’s been a bad week for Chad Johnson.

Less than 24 hours after being charged with domestic abuse for headbutting his wife, Evelyn, in the car over a receipt for condoms, Johnson was cut from the Miami Dolphins, the team that signed him this offseason.

Evelyn will now file for divorce after only 41 days into their marriage. On top of that, VH1 scrapped plans to air a reality show titled, Ev & Ocho, which documented the lives of Johnson and his wife as they begin a new marriage.

Now, thanks to HBO, we have footage of Johnson being cut by the Dolphins. The network had been following the team for its Hard Knocks season and aired the footage in an episode on Tuesday evening.

Chad Johnson issued an apology on Tuesday afternoon in the wake of recent events affecting his personal and professional life, according to his statement posted to the OchoCinco News Network:

I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred.  I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies.  I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.

Johnson was arrested in August on domestic violence charges after reportedly headbutting his wife, Evelyn, in the car. The argument stemmed from a receipt for condoms found in the vehicle.

Evelyn filed for divorce on Tuesday, 41 days after their wedding. Johnson was set to star in a VH1 reality show, ironically about him and his wife, but the network scrapped those plans following news of his arrest.

Less than a day after he was charged with domestic violence, the Miami Dolphins cut him from the team after signing him this offseason.

The fallout from Chad Johnson’s domestic abuse arrest continues. Brian Stelter at the New York Times reports that VH1 has shelved a reality show the channel had filmed over the past several months titled Ev & Ocho. The show chronicled the marriage of Johnson to his wife Evelyn, and was set to air its first episode on September 3rd.

According to a statement from the network, there are no longer any plans to air the show.

Evelyn Johnson herself was already something of a reality TV star after her role on Basketball Wives, where she starred thanks to having been married to NBA forward Antoine Walker. Chad Johnson was formerly a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Johnson was apprehended by Fort Lauderdale, FL police over the weekend for allegedly headbutting his wife during an argument. The Miami Dolphins terminated Johnson’s contract on Sunday in response to the incident.

  • Chad Johnson released by Dolphins after arrest, according to report

The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Chad Johnson a day after the wide receiver was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor domestic battery, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reported on Twitter.

Johnson posted $2,500 bond Sunday and was released from jail after his wife, reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, accused him of head-butting her during an argument in front of their home. The dispute simmered after Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms, The Associated Press reported.

Earlier Sunday, Philbin said he hadn’t yet spoken or met with Johnson.

“We’re going to deal with this at the appropriate time,” Philbin said. “We’re not going to waste time. … We’re all in this thing together. Everybody that sets foot in this building, we’re all held to a high standard.”

Philbin had warned Johnson a couple of days earlier about his behavior after Johnson liberally used profanity during an interview opportunity with reporters.

The Dolphins signed Johnson in June. He was trying to make the team after a highly disappointing season with the New England Patriots last year.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday night on a domestic violence complaint, reports the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The paper reports Johnson and his wife went to a restaurant for dinner and after they returned home Johnson’s wife, Evelyn Lozada, found a receipt for a box of condoms, Davie Police Department Capt. Dale Engle said.

“It gets pretty heated,” Engle said. “By the time they get home here in Davie it’s pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead. When cops came on the scene Lozada, a star in VH1′s Basketball Wives reality series, had lacerations on her forehead, and Johnson was arrested.”

Johnson signed with the Dolphins in June after playing for the New England Patriots in 2011. Johnson, 34, spent 10 seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, making six Pro Bowls.

Johnson reportedly told police that he and his wife accidentally butted heads. Johnson remains in custody and will not be eligible for release until a bail hearing is set, Engle said.

“We are aware of the situation and are in the process of gathering all the relevant information,” team spokesman Harvey Greene told Profootballtalk.com via email.
