Aaron Maybin is now a Cincinnati Bengal, according to a tweet from the linebacker’s personal account.  The move comes after four mostly unsuccessful seasons with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.

Maybin, the 11th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, has struggled mightily since joining the league, and is widely considered to be a draft “bust” at this point in his career. Maybin’s palying time dwindled through his first two seasons in Buffalo, and continued to decline in the last two years with the Jets.

However, the Bengals could present a welcome change of scenery for the 24-year-old, who was named first team All-Big Ten and an All-American with the Penn State Nittany Lions in 2008.

The New York Jets will reportedly give outside linebacker Aaron Maybin a first-round restricted free agent tender, a source has told the New York Daily News.

The estimated value for the one-year tender will be between $2.5-2.75 million, according to the Daily News. As a result of the tender, another team would have to award the Jets their first-round pick in the 2012 draft if they were to sign Maybin.

The Jets will also have the right to match any contract offer given Maybin, as he is an unrestricted free agent.

Last season  Maybin had 11 tackles and six sacks in 13 games. Throughout the past two seasons with the Bills and the Jets, he has had 35 tackles, six sacks and five forced fumbles.
