The New York Jets are interested in bringing former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Mike Vick to the team, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

The Jets believe that Vick could help starter Geno Smith learn offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg’s offense. Vick and Mornhinweg worked together for several years when he held the same post in Philadelphia.

Vick began the 2013 season as the Eagles starter but lost his position to Nick Foles after being sidelined with a hamstring injury. He has told reporters that he plans to be a starter somewhere in 2014, but is willing to return to his role as Foles’ backup if he cannot find a situation that would allow him the first-string role.

Maybe the Jets should trade up to draft another QB?  They did themselves no good going 8-8; would have been better to win like 4 games and draft higher.

Not a bad move really. Vick is probably the best backup QB in the league.

Vick is a bum, always has been. This being said, a bum is better than what NYJ have at the position. If he signs there, it wont be for a backup position.

how does vick help any team? he is too old, injury prone, turnover prone, and incapable of thinking.

Vick is going to teach someone how to play QB in the NFL? Thats rich. He has gotten by on nothing but his physical gifts since he was in college, he never learned the first thing about being a real player. How typical Jets is this?
