The New York Giants and coach Tom Coughlin have agreed to a one-year contract extension, reports NFL.com.

Coughlin, 67, told reporters at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis about the deal, which will keep him in New York through the 2015 season.

The Giants lost their first six games last season before finishing with a 7-9 record.

“I really haven’t paid a lot of attention to it; it’s not a big deal,” Coughlin told NFL.com. “A year has been added to the contract.”

In 10 seasons with the Giants, Coughlin has a 90-70 record with three division titles and two Super Bowl championships.

What an overrated bum this guy is. I'm sick of having to see his red face on TV.

@wjmco  And other than that he has been a massive failure. Their SB's are nothing but luck.

@The_truth_hurts @wjmco  ....

nobody "lucks" into 2 Superbowls in 4 yrs.....

as a matter of fact the NYGiants have been positively UNLUCKY insofar as they could have had more.....

add plaxico burress (shot leg - 2 yr stint in the pokey) to the 2008-09 #1 playoff seed NFC 12 win NYGiants team and they could have conceivably won back-to-back Superbowls....

NYGiants lost the MOST GAMES DUE TO INJURY BY STARTING PLAYERS of any team in the NFL last season (see article by rich cimini) and probably the most if not one of the most over the last 5 years......

@fuggetaboutit909 @The_truth_hurts @wjmco  Are you denying that the Giants didn't have 2 of the luckiest catches in SB history???? How a team led by a QB that is incompetent as Eli won 2 SB's is ridiculous. He's a turnover machine that lucked his way into 2 SB's, carried by that defense.
