Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March after a breakout season in 2013 in which he had a career high in catches and receiving yards.

He says that money won’t be the only factor when it comes to if he returns to the Broncos or plays for a new team next season.

“It’s not all about the money for me. It’s about going to work every day and having fun and enjoying my job,” Decker said on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“If we can get on the same page, I will welcome a call from the Broncos, but I need to do what is best for my family,” he said.

Decker, 26, only had eight catches for 111 yards in Denver’s three postseason games.

That's easy to say when you have extra income with a reality TV show

I forget, Broncos fans think getting to the SB is the ultimate goal. They don't care if they lose by 40.

Nonsense. Worst case possibility is that he is paid so much that he and his family will NEVER have to worry about money again. In fact he should already have enough saved that is the case. He is not a #1 receiver and his numbers this season are a product of Manning and the fact that teams had to defend the Thomas twins and Wes Welker. The Broncos should just move on, they cannot afford to tie up $8-10 million a year for Decker.

He realized he will never win a SB with ol Fivehead as the QB. Is there a bigger choke artist in all of sports than Manning? Guy is a complete joke. Decker is outta there.

I think a lot of these receivers forget who is throwing them the ball. Put Decker on my team, the Jets, and his production will drop by more than 50%.

but I need to do what is best for my family,  <-- I remember a certain athlete named Allen Iverson basically stating the same thing.

In other words, Decker starts off saying its not about the money, then ends saying its about the money.  Typical rich spoiled athlete.

Hey Decker, I will do your job for league minimum and be happy to be in the NFL.  Give me a call Denver, no cap space restrictions with me

He has a ring. You don't. For that matter neither does Marino, Fouts, Kelly or Tarkenton.

@kj4027

So he'll just give you his SB performance in every game?

@MikeHarrison Bitter much?   If he said that he didn't care about his family, you would yell it him for that too.   You jealous types seem to think that every person that makes some good money is spoiled.  Your envy is getting the better of you.

@MikeHarrison  Most athletes say they make decisions based on what is best for their family. But the most famous was Latrell Sprewell turning down a 3yr/21million contract from Minnesota in 2005. His reason was "I got a family to feed." Sprewell never played another game in the NBA as no team offered him a contract.... not even for the veteran's minimum.

@opaque2  His QB rating throughout the playoffs the year the Colts won the Super Bowl was 66. They won despite him not because of him. It was great defensive play and a good running game. Nothing else.

manning beat the lowly rex grossman.  guy is a regular season hero, post season loser.

@opaque2  He also has 8 one and done seasons, no other QB has more than 3. He has lost 2 Super Bowls, including leading the best offense in NFL history to only 8 points. He also has 2 pick sixes in the SB(with 2 different teams) and in his only SB run he finished with 3 TD's and 7 INT's and beat Rex Grossman. Its pathetic if you think about it.

@JoeCabot Where did you see envy? I was simply stating a fact. Another day. Another troll saying stupid crap without actually comprehending someone's comment.

@jtstaley88 @opaque2  Oh, really? Because I thought it was Manning that engineered the greatest comeback in AFCCG history, beating Brady and the Pats 38-34 and overcoming a 21 point first half deficit...

@DODGERFAIL2013 @opaque2Last time I looked, the QBs don't play against each other, they play against the defense.   Rex's defense wasn't near as good as the Seattle.   I'd rather be a QB that gets to the SB 3 times and wins one that be a pathetic QB like Romo, who by the way has only 1 playoff win to his entire career.

@The_truth_hurts Great points.  Because getting to three Super Bowls is the ultimate sign of a horrible QB.
