The New York Knicks are looking to acquire a point guard before the trade deadline on Thursday, and ESPN’s Marc Stein reports that they have set their sights on Jeff Teague of the Atlanta Hawks.

The Knicks will have some obstacles to overcome in a trade for Teague. He has veto power over any trades, as the Hawks matched an offer sheet from the Milwaukee Bucks when he was a restricted free agent last summer. Teague also has a four-year, $32 million contract through 2017 that would hamper New York’s cap space for the 2015 free agent class, which the front office has been eyeing.

Teague has averaged 15.6 points and 7.2 assists per game for the Hawks so far this season.

Good grief . What could the Knicks give other than picks and yes Shumpert ? Knicks inquired . Hawks will give it a look and nothing will happen as always happens at the deadline . I do dig that Dennis Schroder at times though . Not sure he is ready for the keys .

The Knicks are interested in any player who is better than their current awful roster. They are desperate to somehow convince Carmelo that the team is going to get better. It ain't. No draft picks, no cap room until 2015, no players that anyone wants in a trade. Just a dumb bunny owner and a "star" player who doesn't play defense, pass or include his teammates in the game.
