Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel will not throw at the NFL combine in Indianapolis later this month, according to his agent Erik Burkhardt.

Manziel will throw at an individual pro day March 27 and for teams in private workouts, electing to also forgo the official Texas A&M pro day March 5.

Choosing not to throw at pro day has become increasingly common for top-tier QB prospects, who often cite a preference for throwing to their college teammates at their school’s pro day. NFL.com’s Daniel Kim reports that Blake Bortles, AJ McCarron, and Derek Carr are all considering not participating in the throwing portions of the combine.

Hey zit for brains. Actually wouldn't mind us taking him late, Aaron could take him under his wing and mold him into something useful. I see him as a solid backup, something we were missing this season.

Umm, shouldn't that read "Manziel will not 'throw up' at the combine" ??

Well how is he going to prove to everyone that he is the best?

He needs to back up that huge ego he has.

If he wanted to throw to receives that he does know than why not at the school pro day?  He would know all the receivers!  Seems he just wants the attention on only himself and no one else.

It makes sense because there is nothing for him to gain since most so called "experts" say he will go very high in the draft at this point.   The Combine has become a place for guys projected as low 1st or 2nd round picks to show their stuff and try and move up in the draft but for guys who already projected high there is nothing to gain here.

Why not, Manziel?

You talk the talk, let's see you walk the walk

I don't blame him. Why would he want to throw at an NFL Combine where everyone will critique every move and every breath he takes. The people at the NFL Combine only want to show their vast knowledge of what a prototype NFL QB should be. Had they given some QB's a few accolades in the past rather than impune their skills, maybe a few more guys would go there.

I guess he's not as confident in his abilities as he portrays. If he truly believed he was "Da Man" that deserves to be the top pick in the draft, he'd be saying, "Anytime, any place!"

Sensible.  Throwing at the combine, to receivers he doesn't know and routes they haven't practiced together, is a good way to look bad.

@HOFPufnstuf  He is much more like a short Kaepernick than a Russel Wilson.  He is run first, 5 gallon bucket accuracy and not adept at reading defenses.  It will take him 3-4 years, if ever, to be a franchise type Quarterback.

Makes perfect sense, for everyone but the QBs.
