Miami Dolphins’ owner Stephen Ross released a statement on Friday in response to Ted Wells’ report on the bullying of Jonathan Martin, saying he found the behavior described in the report “deeply disturbing” and the organization would commit itself to prevent these problems from reoccurring.

Ross says the Dolphins have been actively revising their code of conduct with outside help since the incident first came to light, and the organization hopes to be at the vanguard of a change in sports culture.

“We seek to create a curriculum which emphasizes accountability and which educates athletes on a standard code of conduct, appropriate use of language, and the elimination of disrespectful and unacceptable behavior in sports, including discrimination or harassment because of race, gender or sexual orientation.”

Ross’ statement does not name Martin, or Richie Incognito, who Wells found to be the primary perpetrator of abuse in the locker room.

Ross looks like the kind of guy that tries in impregnate farm animals.

Isn't it obvious why Martin didn't say anything? Incognito was not only a big, bullying goon, he also was a "team leader," an officially recognized part of the establishment. Martin found himself in a place where Incognito's actions were not only tolerated, but sanctioned. Which is why Philbin needs a suspension as well. If Payton deserved a year off for supposedly lying about the Saints' bounty program, doesn't Philbin deserve similar treatment for letting this go on during his watch?

Now it's time for him to put his money where his mouth is and release all three players, including Pouncey!

One other thing came out in the report yes Martin wasnt telling the dolphins management but he was texting his parents if they were concerned WHY didnt his parents do anything......Everyone had part in this, Martin for texting back to Incognito and why didnt Martin when he was telling his story also blame Pouncey.........And why didnt the other player come forward.

He should be pleased with the report- it exonerates him, Philbum, and Ireland and the rest of management (did you really think an "investigation" that was paid for by the NFL was going to blame the NFL?), but instead blames Incognito, Jerry, and Pouncey.

Where is the NFLPA in this? They have been strangely quiet on this whole thing...

The other player was probably just like Martin, AFRAID to speak up.  Look at other threads about this, things like "snitches get stitches" and "w(replace W with P for actual word, but this place has lame censors)ussies tell on others" are thrown about.

His parents probably did tell him to speak up, but the way he is, he didn't want to be considered a "cancer"(another lovely term used to describe people who speak up) in the locker room.

I was bullied from 3rd grade through 9th grade and every time I mentioned it to my parents, they always stated the same thing, stand up for yourself or go to a teacher.  Of course I knew the rules of the playground(never tell), so I never stood up or told, then finally in 9th grade, I had enough and I fought back and broke a kids nose and arm in anger.  How was I rewarded for finally standing up?  I got a 3 day vacation from school because even though I was the victim, I stood up and fought back, when the school said I should have told only, and not touched the person.  And the funny thing is, that is still the only time I have ever hit another person in rage, because that is not who I am.

And thats exactly why Martin did not hit those 3 morons either(as evidenced by his own words).  If he hit them, it goes against who he is.  So he was in a no win situation, and those 3 neanderthals knew it as well.  They knew he wouldn't tell on them, and they knew he wouldn't hit them either, so basically they knew he was ripe for torment and took full advantage of it.

I tell my kids to fight back against bullies, but some of them are like me, they do not want to hit back, but they also are afraid to tell teachers as well, because sadly, it becomes a he said he said situation, and the bully usually has others to back up his side of the story while the victim does not, because the other kids are to afraid if they speak up, they will also be targeted.

The NFLPA is trying to find a way to protect Incognito, Jerry and Pouncey.

@JackHoff @John Speak  For wearing a hat?!  Is there any evidence ANYWHERE that links Pouncey to Hernandez's actions?  No?  Then your a fascist who jumps to conclusions and has people dragged off to prison on a whim.  Congratulations you just became a dictator.

@MikeHarrison @Dumptruck  No, they are trying to figure out if they can tie cement blocks around the Three Amigos and dump them in the Bermuda Triangle.  And would anyone care.

@MatthewEugeneHaag @JackHoff@John Speak  As I recall, Pouncey and his brother were the ones in college who spent most of their time trying to keep Hernandez OUT of trouble. I guess there have been subsidiary allegationbs, but nothing of the level of Hernandez. At the same time the report (yes, I actually read it) makes it sound like a suspension would be in order. Incognito needs an outright ban.

But, out of curiosity, why was it necessary to throw in the "but buddy" comment? Just more gratuitous "I can talk dirty," about as funny as a third grader, and the usual using anything about being gay as a slur. Grow up. please. That's not too much to ask.
