Former South Carolina All-America defensive end Jadeveon Clowney said he hopes that he will be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft this May.

The Houston Texans have the first pick and have multiple needs they need to address, including finding a franchise quarterback. Clowney is expected to be a top draft pick after registering 24 sacks in his three seasons at South Carolina.

“I just think I should be the No. 1 pick taken in the draft, overall. So we’ll see how that goes,” Clowney said Thursday on the Dan Patrick Show.

Clowney also gave a preview of what scouts can expect at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis later this month, saying he did 23 repetitions of 225 pounds on the bench press and that he was going to run at the combine and aims to run in the 4.4 range.

What a clown.  Can your ego get any bigger?  Talk is cheap

Grow up a little, then maybe you will be #1.  But then again, probably not.

I wonder how quick it will be before he buys a car and gets caught speeding. What a joke of a player. Receiving so much fame off of one hit.

It will never happen, but if this kid falls to the low end of the first round or start of second round, watch out....

Talk about motivated....

Boy if there was ever a reason not pick someone #1... The Texans especially seem as though they would benefit from some locker room leadership. All about me leads to nowhere pretty fast.

This is news?  I bet if you ask the punter at Butthole St. University he'll say the same thing...

This kid reminds me of Mario Williams, great physical specimen who was never the player he should have been, But he was paid like it. This is a once in a generation chance for Houston to set their franchise up, this guy is not the way to go.

Clowney is just that.....a clown. He couldn't or wouldn't play his final college season, he will be a nightmare for public relations because he can't stay out of trouble, and he is arrogant enough to tell the NFL or the world he should be the number one pick.

Pass on him Houston he won't fit in and that is not the position you need!

Sept 15, 2013 all the news in sports was about Clowney having spurs in his feet that were causing him terrible pain and the reason for his slow start to the season.  It was also reported on that day that he would undergo surgery to take care of the problem.. right at the end of the season.  To this day there has been no mention of the surgery and the spurs appear to have just vanished.
