Lakers star Kobe Bryant is expected to miss “at least two more weeks, perhaps even another month,” as Bleacher Report’s Kevin Ding reported that Bryant won’t even undergo an MRI on Tuesday to get an update on the bone’s healing when he meets with Los Angeles doctors before the Lakers host the Indiana Pacers.

GOLLIVER: Midseason grades for all 30 NBA teams

It was expected that Bryant would meet with doctors on Tuesday once the Lakers returned from their seven-game road trip, but as Ding indicates, the lack of an MRI on Tuesday should give fans an idea of where he currently stands with the discomfort in his knee.

Bryant has played in only six games this season, at first because he was recovering after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury last April. More recently, after coming back from the injury last month, he fractured his lateral tibial plateau in his left knee on Dec. 17 against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The five-time NBA champion had previously said he would get an MRI in February. The Lakers enter Tuesday’s game against Indiana at 16-29 and will look to rebound from a loss on Sunday in New York against the Knicks. Bryant was voted in to the All-Star game by fans, but All-Star weekend is Feb. 14 and it’s uncertain whether he will be play.

when father time comes-a-callin', it never sits pretty. shawn kemp, jordan and his knees, the list goes on. all of us are young once but one morning or day we wake up and that exact moment happens. we can't jump as far as we could or our body won't respond as it always did for that instant nanosecond...when you get old, you REALLY feel it. it creeps up on you and then BLAM! it's all downhill from there...no one is immune and no amount of snake oil is gonna fix it.

@PerryTanko  yes because he is younger with less mileage on his body. lebron will age and have a potbelly like jordan does today too. it's unfair to compare the two.
