Carlos Pena has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Angels and will get an invitation to spring training, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times.

Pena, 35, is a 13-year veteran of eight different teams. He hit .209 with eight homers and 25 RBIs in 85 games for the Astros last season. The 2009 All Star has hit 285 career home runs but hasn’t hit more than 19 in a season since 2011.

In 52 career games at Angel Stadium, Pena has hit .274 with 11 home runs.

The Angels also signed outfielder Brennan Boesch to a minor-league deal. Boesch played 23 games for the Yankees last season.

The Angels have failed to win and have been one of, if not the most disappointing story in baseball.
