Denver Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie said he will likely retire if his team wins the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Rodgers-Cromartie told the media on Monday that he had planned to play for five years when he entered the league and that he would be willing to retire after just six seasons if he became a Super Bowl champion, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

The six-year veteran is in his first season in Denver. He spent the first three years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals, followed by two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

I thought he retired when he signed the contract with the Eagles.

Guess he's not retiring. The Seahawks will win the Super Bowl, it's a lock. The Broncos are only favored due to the everyone's in love with Peyton factor. The Seahawks will not sit back and play passive pass defense like the Chargers and Patriots did, they will contest every pass. Peyton will probably have at least two picks. On the other side, the Broncos will not stop Lynch, Seattle will have the ball a lot.

And as a disclaimer, I am not a fan of either team.

I thought he retired last year. (obvious joke from an Eagles fan)

If that is what he wants, you can't begrudge the man.  Not everyone has to have the same priorities in life and this guy seems to have his figured out, whatever they are.  He got in there as a first rounder before the rookie wage scale got limited and he got a second contract so he should be financially set.  As long as he is living within his means and invested well, the guy could just kick back and spend his time with his family.

Whoa! Definitely a shocker, but good for him if that is what he wants to do.

@RobLambeth You should be making millions in vegas instead of commenting on articles.  I mean you said it's a lock.  Did you take out a second mortgage and throw it all on Seattle?
