Mike Adams will walk home from the Super Bowl should the Broncos win — not to Denver, but to his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey.

“If we win the Super Bowl, I’m going to keep my helmet and pads on and I’m walking home,” Adams told Mark Kiszla of The Denver Post. “After I get to the IHOP on Route 3, I’ll start hitchhiking. But they’d probably think I’m just some crazy person.”

Adams, a 10-year veteran who spent three seasons with the 49ers and five with the Browns before joining the Broncos, grew up in the crime-riddled town of Paterson, which is 12 miles up the Garden State Parkway from MetLife Stadium.

“It can be almost like a cancer,” Adams said about his hometown. “And I say that because the negativity in that place can be like a snowball rolling downhill.”

The 32-year-old earned a scholarship to Delaware and made the NFL as an undrafted free agent. His mother died of ovarian cancer during his rookie season with San Francisco, according to Kiszla.

Broncos defensive end Robert Ayers was born in Jersey City and grew up in South Carolina and running back Knowshon Moreno starred at Middletown South High School in New Jersey. No word yet on whether they’ll join Adams on his walk.

Paterson is also the hometown of Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz.

Out of that part of Jersey he'll be running. not walking.

Another example of why the neutral fans should be rooting for Denver. A lot more examples of great players, but decent people also. Sherman and Lynch are clowns and unlikeable to most people.

Don't do it! You'll get robbed on the way and see your Jersey on Ebay the next day!

@MrArlingtonWhat about this story makes him a "decent" person?  Not to say that he's not a decent, but I don't see anything in this article that makes him particularly admirable or likable.

If there are so many more examples of great players and decent people, name them off and tell us all what makes them so much more decent that any of the Seahawks players?

I think you're just one of those people who is so anti-Richard Sherman that you make narrow-minded judgements about the entire team.

@MrArlington

Really?  Lynch unlikeable?  Plenty of decent people on both teams but you obviously know nothing about the Seahawks.
