Tiger Woods shoots 79 at Farmers Insurance Open, misses 54-hole cut
Tiger Woods shot a seven-over-par 79 in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, missing the secondary cut. The round was Woods’ second-worst as a pro.
Woods’ disastrous round featured one eight-hole stretch in which he carded back-to-back double bogeys, followed by six consecutive bogeys. Woods is still credited with making the 36-hole cut. He has only missed nine cuts on the PGA tour in his career. Woods, still no. 1 in the world, finished the tournament at six over par.
