Tiger Woods shot a seven-over-par 79 in the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, missing the secondary cut. The round was Woods’ second-worst as a pro.

Woods’ disastrous round featured one eight-hole stretch in which he carded back-to-back double bogeys, followed by six consecutive bogeys. Woods is still credited with making the 36-hole cut. He has only missed nine cuts on the PGA tour in his career. Woods, still no. 1 in the world, finished the tournament at six over par.

Why is the headline Tiger misses cut and Phil withdraws. Why the hell cannot SI report that Gary Woodland has a one shot lead heading into the final round.  I'm not a Tiger hater at all but give the players that are playing well their due.  As usual...the journalism sucks!

Hey Tiger where is your maid now????    i will tell you....  bleeping some other guy that makes your money look like spare change.

- Yeah she really loved you...lol   Kobe is still bleeping around on his woman and she is where she should be .... at home.. and where is your woman again?

Gotta blame this one on the knee, or the Achilles, Hank Haney, or Steve Williams, or Sean Foley, or Joe LaCava, or the new swing, or Elin, or Lindsey, or the death of Earl, or the greens, or the weather. It's got to be something. What would Serena say? Perhaps a new injury. The back? The groin? The neck? Is there a Perkins Pancake House near Torrey Pines. If not one of the above, it will be something else. Guaranteed. Don't worry though, Woods says "he's close", maybe "just a fraction off".

@aeppbp That's an old complaint.  The fact of the matter is most people don't know Gary Woodland and don't care that he is leading the tournament.  The headline tells a great many of us not to bother watching golf tomorrow.  Can you understand that?

@RobertLewis Guess you're new to golf, Rob. Not that the man didn't give it his all (he's a competitor), but Tiger Woods lives for the majors, which doesn't make organizers at events like FIO all too tickled, but they, and attendees, are glad he showed-up, anyway.
