Former NFL running back Brandon Jacobs reflected on his short stint with the San Francisco 49ers by ripping coach Jim Harbaugh in a radio interview.

“He is a b—-, and that’s why he’s never won anything,” Jacobs said of Harbaugh on WFAN’s “Boomer & Carton” show.

Jacobs signed with the 49ers in 2012 after spending his first seven seasons with the New York Giants, but he played only two games because of injury. Jacobs said felt like he being held hostage in San Francisco.

Jacobs was suspended by the 49ers for posting social media messages criticizing the team for his lack of playing time and eventually spent his final NFL season back with the Giants.

FARRAR: New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers each face serious offseason questions

“I have one regret in my career, and that’s going to the 49ers when I could have stayed in New York,” Jacobs said. “I just wanted to see what stuff was like with another team and it didn’t work out.”

“It is what it is,” he said. “I’ve got two rings. Harbaugh, though, he’s a b—-. So it doesn’t matter.”

Harbaugh is tight, but his results speak for themselves.  Jacobs was a good player, so was Harbaugh and I guarantee you Jacobs never coaches a team to three straight conference title games.

"I have one regret in my career, and that’s going to the 49ers when I could have stayed in New York," Jacobs said.

Ok.

Those slamming Harbaugh in the comments here need to get a little perspective. Is the man a nice person? No clue, but he does seem to love him some Harbaugh, which rubs folks the wrong way I suppose. However, he has been a HC in the NFL two years and has gone to the Super Bowl and the conference championship in those two years. So to indicate he doesn't know how to coach, or is somehow a failure already is asinine. He's pretty much done nothing but win so far, and he's conceivably still trying to figure things out.

As for Jacobs, the guy has no credibility. Whined the entire time he was with the Giants, and was hurt every breath in between. You have to be good to get on the field. He was a situational back for the Giants, and I find it easy to believe SF had more capable players in front of him or he would've seen some PT. Jacobs wouldn't have played again for the Giants had their entire RB core not been decimated with injuries. He needs to go away and enjoy the rings, realizing the player he thinks he was is a work of his own "special" fiction.

Speak the truth, Mr. Jacobs.  Jim Harbaugh's inept coaching is the reason why the 49ers will NEVER win the super bowl.  He doesn't know how to put a running game together and much less, doesn't want to learn.  He is always at odds with the running backs coach.  Harbaugh plays too much favoritism while riding off the defense that was built by Mike Singletary.  The only thing he did was keep it together & he's praised to the skies.  He's overrated period.  The only thing he has to do is coach the offense & he fails every time.  Had he ran Jacobs & the others a lot more he'd have won the super bowl.

Say what you want to about Jacobs but he calls it like he sees it. It is what it is, the truth. Harbaugh is the biggest whiner amongst the forty-whiners.

Seattle: bigger, stronger, meaner, smarter, faster, louder, and better than his team.

jacobs is not one to mince words.... he will let you know exactly how he feels.  haubaugh has not been what anyone would call a classy coach with the niners but he might have been humbled this year given the press conference after the loss to the seahawks.

It would be nice to have some detail other than Harbaugh is a "b-----", which I don't even know how to pronounce.

you guys might want to lighten up on jacobs.

hes making these statements about harbaugh AFTER PLAYING 7 SEASONS FOR COUGHLIN!!

If Jacobs had half the passion Harbaugh has he would have made a significant contribution to the Niners instead of being a washed up malcontent

@J Diddy ,  harbaugh has been in the league for three years.

Three consecutive NFC Championship games and a super bowl.

@jjtruth  I'm not a Niners Fan, but thats silly, absurd and flat out wrong. Harbaugh's signature on every level and every where he has been is the RUN GAME. He is not OVERATED.  I'd hire him to coach my team. Jacobs is hurt and bitter........sometimes it doesn't work out. Jacobs IS NOT better than Gore....POINT BLANK.  Singletary is a great motivator, but lacked the skillset and knowledge at that time to run a team. Harbaugh is a GREAT COACH. he just has to PAY HIS DUES. he WILL WIN a Championship.

@jjtruth  The 49ers lead the league in rushing this year idiot.  So please explain how he "doesn't know how to put a running game together.

@jjtruth Mike Singletary built niners defense, are you kidding me? come on, I know you don't like JH but to say that MS left anything good in SF is a joke. JH has been only 3 years in the league and his record with the niners is pretty good, you're right he did't win a SB and 2 NFC champ games but a lot of coaches don't win anything in their first 3 years and JH has done a lot and he still have a long time to go and he'll probably win a SB soon... again if you don't like the guy is one thing but to say that he is not a good coach is stupid

@alhmiel1  Jacobs is simply stating in public what we all know.  Everybody knows Harbaugh is big butt, jerk to deal with since its always about him.  I personally am tired of all his theatrics.  Harbaugh winning coach of the year was too much too soon.   He's not nearly as great as he seems to think he and he plays favorites to the detriment of the team.  I'm glad Richard Sherman called out Crabtree as a "sorry receiver" but Harbaugh thinks he's superman.   Who the players respect & regard as the best speaks volumes of truth despite what any coach believes.   The only one deluded is Harbaugh who  takes too much credit for the team's success but none for its failures.

@Timmy-Time Yeah, I remember Seattle just kicking SF's a$$ up and down the field from start to finish, total domination in all 3 phases of the game.

@ChadCollinsThose of you trashing Jacobs ask yourselves.  Have I ever spoke harshly about a tyrannical and controlling boss?  Did I always respond well to a boss screaming at me while devaluing my performance?  Did I ever have a harsh boss who dismissed my work & ridiculed my efforts?  Did I ever speak to anyone about a bad work situation?  Did I ever feel the need to talk or rag on a bad boss?   If you answer yes to 1 of these you have a pulse.  If you answer yes to 1 or more of these then congrats!  You're human after all.  If you answer no to all of them you are a self deluded, self-righteous fool in denial of your many flaws.

@r3dawnHarbaugh wasn't man enough to put Jacobs on the field.  Hope you dimwits know that Harbaugh's decisions to run Gore against Seattle despite his negative yardage is the reason why the team is sitting home.  A running back who can't run against this team must not be allowed in the starting line-up in these games vs. Seattle.  Yet, Harbaugh does the same stale plays over & over.  Jacobs has full back power---unlike Gore he'd have run through Seattle.  Jacobs can talk hater should just shut up.  Because you're all wrong and you're dumb too for posting foolishness about a game Mr. Jacobs thrived in for 13 years.

@JamesAllen2 @jjtruth  Yea they led the league in rushing. With plays designed for QB to run. How about the NFL take away the slide if any QB goes past line of scrimmage and see how these teams do. GIVE the defense the chance to play .

rafchac1981
rafchac1981

@jjtruth @alhmiel1 Crabtree is a great WR, check his stats in 2012 and count that he had a serious injury in 2013 and without any training camp, preseason games and any of the stuff that gives your rhythm in a season he came back and made a big difference for the team so this guy from Seattle can say whatever he wants, hopefully he never get's injured but as a NFL player he's one step closer to get injured and if that happens to him we will see how he handles it and how he comebacks, right now he thinks he is something out of this world but we'll see what happens... Crabtree already prove he is good and he will continue to be good, this guy had a good season this year and ok season last but again will see who stands at the end

jjtruth

@alhmiel1Not a Harbaugh fan in the least.  But pal, don't get over eager.  The Broncos might send your boys home whining for the rest of this decade.  They will be embarrassed by Peyton Manning & co.  Hold on and slow down.

M as in Mancy
M as in Mancy

@jjtruth @r3dawn 1) Jacobs was drafted in 2005 and ended his career after 2012, not a 13 year career.

2) Look at Jacobs' YPC (4.5) vs. Gore's (4.6), which is even more impressive when you note that Jacobs spent his career playing with Eli Manning who defenses gameplan for first while Gore mostly has played against 8 man fronts.

3) Wipe your chin buddy.

@JayRedd @r3dawn And so of course Jacobs is a superior person and Harbaugh is nothing but a giant loser. Lots of guys have rings and contributed very little to the SB win. Jacobs is one of those guys.

64chrisr64
64chrisr64

@JayRedd @r3dawn So, having said ring gives him the right to call a successful NFL coach a name straight off a prison yard with no specifics. No wonder people hold silent racial beliefs ala Sherman's "thugs" comments.

He should be saving choice words for his agent for advising such a poor free agency move in the first place

@The Dude@badcyclist1What's he done?  Juggle QB's?  Riding the defense built by another coach?  Harbaugh is all theatrics.  Coach Pete Carroll has exposed him as a faker.  Goodbye to ever winning a division, championship or super bowl.  The team that owns the SF49ers is right in their division.  Good luck with that one!

@64chrisr64

Isn't having the "rings" and "trophies" the rationale of the Niner's faithful for determining whose opinion matters? I find it ironic that the same logic would be dismissed when used against the Niners.

FWIW, it does sound like a bit of sour grapes on the part of Jacobs due to lack of playing time. Can't say if he earned it or not, but usually playing time is reserved for the better players on the team. I wouldn't put much weight into his comments......

64chrisr64
64chrisr64

@fuggetaboutit909 @The Dude @badcyclist1 Yeah, can't wait for NFL films short on "the Jacobs era" when those two Super Bowls are discussed. Think Harbaugh will end up with much more accomplished in his NFL career when all said and done than Jacobs will.
