Florida State recruit Cinmeon Bowers and two of his teammates from Chipola College in Florida were arrested Jan. 16 for tampering with evidence after being pulled over by the Marianna Police Department for a speeding violation.

According to the ESPN report, the 20-year-old Bowers, a 6-foot-6 power forward at the junior college, ate marijuana to prevent officers from discovering it. Torian Graham, 20, and Jamaar McKay-Taylor, 19, were also in the vehicle and were charged with tampering with evidence for consuming the drug. All three men were taken to Jackson County Correctional Facility.

The school suspended all three players while they face legal proceedings, according to the Jackson County Floridian.

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton told ESPN he will wait until a final decision has been made before deciding on what to do with Bowers after the proceedings:

“I will wait until I get all the complete information.”

Bowers committed to the Seminoles in September. He had been averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in 16 appearances this season for the Chipola Indians.

Did it take anyone else almost the entire article to realize that the guy's name wasn't "Cinnamon"?

Tough break. If it would have been in Tallahassee they would have had it made.

The "legalize pot" flash mob is here.

First pot.  Then, hey...look at all the tax money we're collecting.  Let's legalize coke.  "As long as people are going to do it, let's make money off it."  And so on down the line, until we turn into one big Amsterdam, with needles and addicts all over the place.

I'd say something about slippery slopes, but the oh-so-enlightened crowd here is too sophisticated for common sense.

Maybe Colorado can get him to commit. Weed is legal here. Oh, and for WHO*IS*ESPN, I'm white and I'm smarter than you.

They just didn't eat fast enough. Otherwise they were very smart. Pot should have been legalized 40 years ago. It's the 21st century. Time to realize it.

I'm tired of reading about people being severely punished for having small amounts of pot. It should definitely be legalized in all 50 states. That being said, it isn't legal yet, so it's dumb to speed while you have weed in your car.

How long before we realize as a nation that pot isn't anywhere near as incapacitating as booze? Arrested for possession of a small amount pot -- that sounds so archaic and pre-historic. Wake up America.

They should have Tweeted a selfie of themselves eating the pot.  It would have gone viral.  Hahahahahaha  Way to waste yourselves gentlemen.......

Sounds like Cheech and Chong....  "The police are pulling us over.  Get rid of this stuff...no not that way man, eat it."  "  I can't eat all this, I have a whole pocket full"  Wait.....  "Hey man....  It was only an ambulance!!!!"   Hahahahahaha

@MidwestGolfFan

Slippery slope is a logical fallacy. Congratulations! And you think you are so smart!

@WHO*IS*ESPN Yeah, especially all those, "blacks," that live in Colorado and the state of Washington.  It must suck to go through life a bitter misanthrope, cranking out rapier-like witty posts on cnnsi.

@WHO*IS*ESPN This is troll bait but il take it.  Both Washington and Colorado are comprised of mostly white residents and have legalized weed...and the its the people in those states who voted on it....Obama just reiterated what most of the nation already knows..weed isnt any worse than booze.

@WHO*IS*ESPN Do you hear that? It's your brain reminding you not to say those things around a black person. I hope you're listening.
