Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin is expected to be back in action in time to play in the Super Bowl, according to Fox Sports‘ Mike Garafalo.

Harvin missed Sunday’s NFC championship game with a concussion he sustained in the team’s divisional round win over the New Orleans Saints. The injury came after Harvin had already been taken to the locker room earlier in the same game to be tested for a concussion after a big hit.

MMQB: Richard Sherman in his own words

The former Pro-Bowler missed all but one of Seattle’s regular season games with a hip injury this year, his first with the team.

A strong 5MPH New Jersey breeze will smack Harvin upside the head in warmups and he'll be ruled out with a concussion...

There is little doubt that a healthy Harvin can contribute to the team.  He is a member of the team, and has done everything he can to return to action.  A good team, unrelated to the field of play, accepts the fact that ALL members of the team are members, not just those who contribute at a given moment.  Clearly his absence isn't something he chose.

If he's healthy I'm all for having him available to play.  Can he play the entire game?  Probably not.  Can he contribute something worthwhile while playing in limited situations?  I think yes.  He's put in the effort, just as much as any starter or guy who plays only on the practice field, and he deserves a fair shot in the next game, whether it's week 4 or the Super Bowl.  I was saddened to see the first hit since it was clear that Bush was targeting him.  There should have been a fine levied.  While Sherman might well be an idiot, Bush is a far more dangerous person to have loose on the field.

I personally wish Percy Harvin was on the field way sooner in the season and think he can and will be a great asset to the team in the future. With that said I do not believe Harvin should play in the super bowl due to several reasons. 1 he's not game ready meaning being used to hits & A full game wide open & more important to me is he hasn't contributed to the team all season , so why should someone who has been there all year and helped the team get to the big game now have to sit and not make the trip so Harvin has a spot.

These are just my opinions but truely I just want the win

Seattle got fleeced on that trade.  I wonder what the over/under is on Harvin actually making it through a whole game.

@ArnoldNewman It hasn't worked out like Seattle hoped, but they didn't get Percy just for this year. People also tend to overvalue draft picks, who often turn out to be busts, even 1st rounders. With Seattle's pick, Minnesota got Xavier Rhodes.

@ArnoldNewman The trade was so lopsided that it prevented the team from reaching the Super Bowl... wait, never mind.
