Canucks’ Henrik Sedin out Tuesday after 679 consecutive games played
It breaks his streak of 679 consecutive games played, which is the sixth-longest streak in NHL history. The last game Sedin missed was March 19, 2004.
Sedin was injured in the second period of Thursday’s 1-0 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes when he was cross-checked by Coyotes’ center Martin Hanzal. He was forced to leave Saturday’s brawl-filled game with the Calgary Flames after the second period.
Sedin, in his 13th season, has nine goals and 31 assists in 50 games.
