NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is planning to brave the cold weather in New Jersey for this year’s Super Bowl, according to ESPNs Adam Schefter.

Goodell’s seats are in an outdoor area of MetLife Stadium, where the forecast currently calls for a high of 37 degrees and a low of 25 with the possibility of rain, according to Schefter’s report.

Commissioner Pete Rozell sat outside at Super Bowl VI which was played at Tulane Stadium in 39 degree weather.

Hopefully the weather will suck, i am really hoping for a snowy/windy/icy/freezing super bowl.

Dumb S hit putting the Super Bowl in an ice covered swamp.

If the SB can be in NYC, surely they should consider Denver.  The weather is often mild (the snow is the in the mountains people not the city), and the people are nicer than the typical ahole from NYC.

It was shorts and t shirt weather at kickoff and the cheerleaders today weren't all covered up today.

Shades of Bowie Kuhn freezing his butt off at the 1976 World Series.  I wish Goodell 20 degree weather with some wind chill.

When will Roger Goodell and the Multi-Billion Dollar "Non-Profit" NFL Corporation start paying their fair share of taxes? The NFL has been paying NO taxes for decades...meanwhile their corporate lovin' Republican Party keeps giving the NFL MEGA tax breaks and wide-open tax loopholes!

Am I the only one old enough here to remember how STUPID Bowie Kuhn was in the World Series years and years ago when he sat outside in what were relatively cold temperatures during one of the earliest night games???  Is the Artful Dodger really that stupid???  As a Saints' fan, maybe my question is redundant, is redundant….

25 low? Oh, BFD. Tell that rich a-hole to get a life.

I'm sure that someone with the skill will knit a nice muffler and earmuffs for RGZero. We don't want him catching cold, now do we? I hope it snows enough that he can be pelted with snowballs. I can think of no one more deserving.

This is giving the nflpa ideas. They may sue the league for failing to disclose the full risk of playing football in freezing tempatures...

As long as the product on the field is as it should be, the cold won't matter.

That's because they didn't have skybox suites at Tulane Stadium in 1972.

For the love of all that is holy, please get rid of the %#{€£^!? UFC pop up ad. I don't watch UFC and I'm about ready to quit SI.

We're going to need a 'Ginger-cam' on him at all times.  Being in New York and surrounded by thousands of people that spend 3 hours just getting into the stadium, he's going to get an ear full of hate.  This might end up being the best part of the game.

Reading the headline made me think he was going to sit in a lawn chair in the parking lot.

@Jessica2If this is such a menace to society and it is all the fault of republicans, why do we never hear any democrats speaking up about it?

While it is true that he nfl as an entity is non profit 501c6 each of the 32 teams are taxed as a business. Ticket sales and revenues generated by merchandise by each team are taxed as corporare profits. The real crime is churches promoting their man in the sky bullcrap not paying taxes

Oh, and Kuhn sat out there in a short-sleeve shirt, when everyone around him had jackets, gloves, hats, and the like…

….is redundant, is redundant….

@CarlLeggHe's got a life.  A pretty good one.  He's commissioner of the NFL.  But you sure told him.

@JizzMasterZero  But then he'll have to take a bathroom break and he'll be gone 64 min'.s  Then he'll have to welcome a dignitary in his suite and talking and visiting with said dignitary (he can't be rude now and leave him hanging you see) will take 39 min's.

Then, what do you know?  It will be half-time and he'll need to get some grub and what do you know?  His suite is loaded with good eats.

Then, when the 2nd half starts, he'll take his seat outside and what do you know?  Well all that food and drink he ate during half time will cause him to again have to go use the restroom and he'll go back up to his suite so he won't have to go where common folks go.

Then there will surprisingly be a security update/matter that will require his attention as soon as he walks out of the bathroom in his suite and it will take 49 min's to resolve.

But hey, he sat outside you know.

@kkingbrian There isn't anyone who can afford a seat anywhere near the commish who is going to give him a hard time.  Anyone behaving like an idiot will get escorted out of the stadium.

@HankDorf I thought the same but then I realized he would be arrested for illegal tailgating.

@MrArlington     humans being humans.  all religions are a crutch.  there are over 1,000 different religions on the african continent alone, they are are as factually BS as the ones that this mindless herd adheres to.  a quote from one of the republican favorites, g gordon liddy:   " we are all just eventual food for worms "

@MrArlington

So faith-based charities should be taxed? That would gut, oh, about 70% of all U.S. charities.

Idiot.

@LynnRoberts I seem to remember the National League commissioner sitting hatless in a steady rain during a NLCS years ago. You know, to prove that it was a really a wonderful evening.

@Sportsfan18 @JizzMasterZero Where the "common folks" go? The crowd at the SB is full of nothing but corporate shills, oligarchs, and multi-millionaires. Only the tiniest fraction are what might be called normal people and they won't be sitting anywhere near the comissioner's choice seats.

Your ignorance is stunning. BTW. I'm an atheist, so I don't much care about the "man in the sky argument." What makes me laugh about low information libtards like you is that, even though we've seen time and again how much money the government wastes every day, they still insist that we give the government more money. As Albert Einstein said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Based on that, you are not only stupid, but insane.

Charities and other nonprofits exempted from taxes because they serve a public purpose have become a hotbed of tax evasion and abuse, according to the head of the Internal Revenue Service.

MrArlington
MrArlington

"We can see that tax abuse is increasingly present in the sector," and unless the government takes effective steps to curb it, such organizations risk "the loss of the faith and support that the public has always given to this sector," Internal Revenue Commissioner Mark W. Everson said in a letter to the Senate Finance Committee detailing abuses his agency has found.

@Ray1950

Paradise? Ray, are you going to get 72 virgins?

You know, religion isn't about what you get out of it in the future, it's about the love you can give to others, now, today.

Ray1950
Ray1950

@MrArlington Ah, so it is just your belief He doesn't exist.  This could be an interesting debate but frankly, you don't seem to have enough mental ammo to compete, and I wouldn't want to take advantage of you.

We'll miss you in Paradise ... Enjoy your tea.

One can't prove a negative. Example being that you can't disprove my belief that there is a teapot in outerspce floating around outside of our technologies range of vision.

@MrArlington You have, I assume, proof that the "man in the sky" does not exist?

Yes. Most should. The "non profit" exemption is grossly abused. You and your low information crowd can't be reasoned with so I won't try.
