Vancouver Canucks coach John Tortorella will be in New York for a disciplinary hearing regarding his actions during Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.

The game devolved into a brawl as soon as the puck was dropped, as Tortorella was upset with Flames’ coach Bob Hartley for starting his fourth line against the Canucks. The first 2 seconds of the game resulted in 152 penalty minutes and eight ejections. During the brawl Tortorella was leaning toward the Flames’ box yelling for Hartley, who did not respond.

In the hallway to the locker rooms after the first period, the Canucks’ coach had to be physically restrained from going after several of the opposing players.

Tortorella could receive a substantial fine or even a suspension.

good for him. blame Hartley's lineup on Brian 'Truculence' Burke, still playing caveman hockey.
