Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will visit Dr. William Meyers, a Philadelphia-based specialist, next week to evaluate his groin and determine if he needs surgery, according to Tom Pelissero of USA TODAY Sports.

Peterson has been having issues with his groin in recent weeks. He missed two of the Vikings’ last three games. Peterson also dropped out of the Pro Bowl last week due to his groin trouble and a foot injury.

It’s not the first time Peterson will be paying a visit to Meyers. The same doctor performed Peterson’s sports hernia surgery after last season.

The groin issue notably affected Peterson in a Nov. 17 loss to Seattle. He ended his season with 1,266 rushing yards in 14 games.

Peterson has four years and $57 million in non-guaranteed salary and bonuses remaining on his contract extension. He has $12 million in scheduled salary for 2014.

While they are in cutting, they should also give the guy a vasectomy.
