Ndamukong Suh, Lions express interest in new long-term deal
Suh has two years left on the rookie contract he signed in 2010, but the final year of the contract is voidable.
Suh is scheduled to make $11.55 million next season and $3.505 million in 2015 before hitting the free agent market. His cap number for 2014 is $22.4 million.
Suh, 27, had 49 total tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Lions last season.
“We have tremendous respect for Ndamukong. We’ve expressed to him an interest in him being here, and he’s expressed an interest in staying here,” Lewand said via MLive.com.
“We’ll see where that takes us and what the timing of that is. He stopped by today to see Coach Caldwell and I think he’s another guy who can benefit from the leadership Jim is going to bring and from the staff.”
