DeAngelo Hall: Redskins ‘probably should’ change their name
Many people think the Washington Redskins should change their name because it is derogatory towards Native Americans.
Now, even one of the team’s players has come out and said it “probably should” change the name.
Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall is a 10-year NFL veteran who is known for being outspoken, and he spoke his mind when asked about the name on Fox Sports’ “Keepin’ it Real with Mike Hill.”
“I think eventually they will change it,” Hall said. “They probably should. But they won’t for a while at least.”
Hall is believed to be the first Redskins player to speak out against the name.
Wide receiver Josh Morgan, a Washington, D.C., native, said in May the team’s name will never change.
“I grew up right down the street from RFK stadium,” Morgan told The Washington Post at the time. “As a matter of fact, I’m sitting here right now. All I know is the Redskins, so I’m glad we’re not going ever to change the name.”
