White Sox, Dayan Viciedo avoid arbitration with 1-year, $2.8 million deal

The Chicago White Sox have avoided arbitration by signing left fielder Dayan Viciedo to a one-year deal worth $2.8 million, according to the New York Post‘s Joel Sherman.

Viciedo hit .265 with 14 home runs in 473 plate apperances in 2013, his second full season with the club.

The new deal will keep the Cuban-born 24-year old at his 2013 salary. He will not be eligible for free agency until the 2018 season.
