Celtics guard Rajon Rondo plans to return before the All-Star Break
Rondo has not played this season after recovering from knee surgery last February.
The Celtics’ last game before the All-Star break is a home contest against the San Antonio Spurs on Feb. 12.
“It may be this month, next month. It’ll be before All-Star Break,” Rondo said, via the Boston Globe. “I haven’t had any swelling. I’m wearing my brace. At times when I play, it doesn’t feel like I have it on. No setbacks. It’s just, I’m taking my time.”
The Celtics are 13-23 without Rondo this season and are 11th in the Eastern Conference. Rondo also said he might use the D-League to ease into his return to the NBA.
“I might go practice with them when I get back,” he said. “Still just not sure yet. I feel 10 times better. I feel more confident, stronger, more explosive. What I’m doing in the weight room, it’s productive.”
