Manager Don Mattingly has signed a three-year extension with the Los Angeles Dodgers, reports ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

Mattingly has led the Dodgers since the 2011 season and captured the NL West in 2013 with a 92-win campaign despite a slow start from the team.

The former MVP’s current deal was set to expire after the 2014 season, but the extension will keep him in the skipper’s role through 2016.

Management probably figures this is low risk.  They can afford to hire someone else.

Some of my buddies from the Dodger game chats are going to be pissed with this. Hope Don learned from some of those bad mistakes he made this year like odd PH choices.
