Peyton Manning was the only unanimous choice on the Associated Press NFL All-Pro team that was announced on Friday.

He was selected on all 50 ballots of NFL media members, so there is no second-team All-Pro quarterback this season.

The 37-year-old, who set NFL records with 55 touchdown passes and 5,477 passing yards, has been selected for the first team seven times, tying Hall of Famer Otto Graham for the most by a quarterback.

Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, who finished the regular season with 1,215 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, and Colts linebacker Robert Mathis, who led the league with 19.5 sacks, each got 49 out of 50 votes. Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, who led the league with 1,607 rushing yards, and Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who had a league-leading eight interceptions, each got 48.

Vikings kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson was the only rookie named to the squad.

Philadelphia and Carolina each had three first-team selections, the most in the league.

The entire team can be seen here.

Where oh where is Eli?? 2 years ago all the talk in NY/NJ was "who is better, Eli or Peyton."  And the answer- of course you idiot, "its Eli." The reason Eli  has 2 SB wins and Peyton only one. Peyton "sheets" more talent than Eli will ever know.

The two have met  for the past decade-plus, with Brady holding a 10-4 career record versus Manning, including a 2-1 postseason record over Peyton. The latest meeting saw Manning become useless in the second half.

I guess this unanimous group doesn't consider performance very highly before casting their votes.

Gonna be fun to watch mr manning get those happy feet in the playoffs and implode as usual.

What completely uninformed, biased people actually vote for this?

Eddie Lacy on the 2nd team?  Seriously?

Do we just pick a Packer in spite of actual performance?

Matt Forte had FIVE HUNDRED more yards from scrimmage, on a team that scored more points. He had more rushing yards, more receiving yards and a higher yards per carry. And more TD's.

When voters cast their vote, do they base it solely on what team a guy plays for?

Do any of them consider actual performance on the field????

You know folks these forums really show a lot about people. I posted a few opinions and became a target.I don't dislike Peyton Manning. I don't think he lacks some very good football skills.

I just don't happen to think that being an excellent passer makes one a good overall football player.

There was a time when the score was secondary to how the whole game was played. Now as with everything else football has been diminished to the more is better measurement system.

Nice job peyton faking your neck injury so Indy could release you. Kid is a total prima donna and I hope he gets sacked with extreme prejudice.

Peyton is and always has been a "me first" type of player, he's equal to a Dez Bryant.

It's a shame that "Passer" has replaced the position of 'Quarterback". If Mannings receivers don't do their jobs he isn't much of a Quarterback.

If not for Rex grossman, Peyton is still ringless

These individual accolades mean more to peyton than superbowl titles. He'll fold in the playoffs as usual.

@ElvisHitlerIt's okay to be a hater, dude; it really is. If Peyton's whipped your team's behind more times than you care to count, nobody is going to judge you for your fanboy hatred.

@Richard--Ramirez If the point of your post was to announce to the world that you're an absolute idiot, I'd like to congratulate you on your success.

@Richard--Ramirez You should not be allowed to comment on sports, period! You know nothing, understand nothing ...

@psychsports  "For Manning he has been somewhat less fortunate in this manner as he has experienced different coaches, teams and philosophies."...How many OC's and QB coaches has Brady had? Head coaches/teams for Manning? Wow - 2 (He did not play the year Caldwell took over Indy)...

"In fact, research shows that those who spend enormous effort, energy and time in singular pursuit of a goal pay the price of not being able to attend to other pursuits—- which often leaves them less well rounded." - INCREDIBLE! Would never have thought spending more time on one thing would leave less time for other things. Fascinating stuff Doc.

@nutz4golf It must be really really difficult to watch football with a hater's eyes; you have my sympathy, friend. It must kill you to have to watch a guy throw so many TDs, for so many yards, and shatter so many records, together with receivers and runners that are getting better each and every day they get to play with that guy. Now if only he also played defense, so you could blame him for missed tackles too -- that could at least ease off some of that hate. Poor you.

@nutz4golf

Lucky for Peyton that you don't vote for All Pros ...

He wouldn't have tied with Otto Graham for Most All Time at quarterback position.

@nutz4golfUm no - there's more to passing then just lobbing the ball out there.  See Tim Tebow.

And anyone who watches Manning knows that he studies defenses like none other.

@Joe R2So, using your "logic", would you also say that if not for Tom Brady, Eli Manning would still be ringless? Or if not for Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers would be ringless? Just trying to understand what you're talking about, is all.

@Joe R2 If not cheating, so is Brady! What is your point? Or are you just a hater?

@Joe R2Great point.  And if the 49ers had won the Super Bowl last year, the Ravens would have lost.

@Joe R2

By your reasoning, Dan Marino is worthless ...  no rings

That despite setting many records and being one of only fifteen players (any position)

EVER elected to the football hall of fame on the First ballot!

willrwills

@Joe R2Right cause it isn't enough that people harp on him for having only one ring, now we need to say that he didn't earn the first ring either.  Classy.

@Richard--Ramirez And how is it that you know so well what means more to Peyton, given that he talks about teamwork and team-based achievements in every single interview? Are you his BFF?

willrwills
willrwills

@Richard--RamirezIf you study anything about football, you know that Peyton actually plays better in the playoffs (in terms of passer rating, interceptions, passing yards).  It's usually his team who folds (see Denver Defense last year).  To say otherwise is to be misinformed.

KristianColasacco
KristianColasacco

@willrwills @nutz4golf "a one trick pony".  He plays quarterback better than any other player in the league. If by one trick pony you mean, he's not also a cornerback or something, I suppose you're right.  Really though, you just come off as someone hating for no real reason other than perhaps a bit of jealousy.

nutz4golf
nutz4golf

@willrwills @nutz4golf Because of Tim Tebow we are able to watch some terrific run option football that had been put on the shelf. It's nice to be able to watch different styles of offense from team to team again.

I've watched more football in the last three years then I have in the twenty previous to that.

The game had evolved to 'Passball". Pretty boring.

nutz4golf

@KristianColasacco @willrwills @nutz4golf I hate no one. I just happen to like to see more then a ball flying through the air in a football game.

And what may I ask would I be jealous of. I have all a person could want. I am able to share abundantly with others. And I have a few  trophies and such stacked up to look at, if I wish to relive some very special moments.I hate to bring this up again, but he is a better passer of the ball then most, but that's all he does.

JoeCabot
JoeCabot

@nutz4golf I don't suppose that a QB has anything to do with making a receiver look good, does he?

nutz4golf
nutz4golf

@JoeCabot @nutz4golf @willrwills A good QB has receivers as ONE of his resources.

The Patriots got the number two seed in spite of having NO highly rated receivers. You see Brady is able to function in all aspects of the QB slot. Manning, as I stated, is a one trick pony.

nutz4golf
nutz4golf

@likhon @nutz4golf @willrwills @Richard--Ramirez Sticks and stones, you know the saying.

But now that temper of yours needs a bit of tweaking.

The point I was making is that Peyton's name is on the yardage and td records, but it takes a team to accomplish such things.

How do you feel about Obamacare?

nutz4golf
nutz4golf

@likhon @nutz4golf @willrwills @Richard--Ramirez And by the way. Attacking someone who is expressing his feeling, as he allows you to express yours shows a certain lack of confidence on your part.

Maybe a little meditation would help you to strengthen that inner self.

nutz4golf
nutz4golf

@likhon @nutz4golf @willrwills @Richard--Ramirez Him Him Him. He He He.

That's the point my friend. It's a team game.

We will see what happens in the playoffs.

Do you understand that Tim Tebow, a team player, to this point has taken Denver farther into the playoffs.

likhon
likhon

@nutz4golf @willrwills @Richard--Ramirez Do you understand football at all? Do you understand that a great QB affects all aspect of the game? Do you realize because of Manning, other teams got away from their game plan most of the time? Do you understand that his own players work harder because he works the hardest? Do you understand he makes the receivers better? Do you understand that Denver won 13 games with a very average defense? Do you understand that because of him Denver was on national TV 8 times?

Anyway, you have no clue what you are talking about if you think a QB is just responsible for TD and yardage! If there is a fan license, yours should be revoked for stupid/idiotic comments!!
