Jameis Winston jokes that he’d follow Jimbo Fisher to Texas

Candidates for the Texas job are dropping like flies, with Art Briles staying at Baylor and Jim Mora signing an extension with UCLA.

But if Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher takes the Longhorns job after Monday’s BCS championship game, he could have a prized transfer coming with him — Heisman winner Jameis Winston — although Winston was (most likely) kidding.

Winston said he and his teammates have not concerned themselves with speculation about Fisher being a candidate at Texas. And at his media session on Friday, the redshirt freshman took it one step further.

“Even if Coach Fisher goes to Texas, I’m going to ask him, ‘Can I go with you?’ Yeah, I’m serious. He’s my coach,” Winston said with a smile.

Winston, who has thrown for 3,820 yards and 38 touchdowns this season, said he wanted to play for Texas out of high school and even tried to call Mack Brown, but he inevitably chose to play for the Seminoles.

Winston turns 20 the day of the title game and will be eligible for the 2015 NFL draft, so it would make little sense for him to sit out a year to transfer.

So "jokes" now make for story writing on CNNSI (like the site nonetheless)?

He is just saying he loves his coach. And if Fisher leaves he will love his replacement

So funny coming from the rapist who thinks he is God's gift to football and the next cam or bob 3.

Oh Lord... that won't go over well

While that's a nice thought and all, I doubt Winston would want to sit out a year.

@JustinParisi That rule should be changed to allow kids to change schools if their coach leaves. Penn State is a perfect example, I'm sure O`Brien told his recruits the long haul story and look where they are stuck unless they want to sit a year or go down  a division.

@Mel @WHO*IS*ESPN And Casey Anthony wasn't convicted either... you gonna have her babysit your kids?

@crushliberalism @donald5 @WHO*IS*ESPN For a guy who, by your avatar, probably gets all whiny when the left throws out the race card out of nowhere, I'm wondering where you got race out of my comment.... Hypocritical much???

@JoeCabot @donald5 Sorry but his logic was that if you were not convicted, you can't be guilty.  But you seemed to give him a pass on that exact same line of thinking.

@HarshRealities @donald5 @Mel @WHO*IS*ESPN You are so wrong. She was drugged. They did not test her blood, only urine after Det. Angelo (TPD) sat on it for nearly 40 days. "Lie #4" is a lie by YOU. The rape kit says she had bruises and vaginal tears. The SANE nurse who examined her stated that it was her opinion that the woman was a victim of a sexual assault. The lies are told by Darby and Casher who had many inconsistencies in their stories. One said she performed oral sex while on her knees, the other clown said she was on the bed. There was no DNA found inside her mouth. They both lied to protect their QB. Casher changed his story about the motivation for entering the rape room. In the Darby interview, he even made up an imaginary security guard to support his story. The guard was never located, neither was the cab driver after Angelo sent an imaginary e-mail requesting the cab driver to come forward. Angelo did not go to Potbellys or the Legacy Apartments to obtain surveillance tapes. He also lied about the victim not cooperating and he refused to interview Winston and collect his DNA last January when he was ID'ed. He did not collect the phone records from Winston nor his two accomplices, neither did he interview those 2 clowns until November. Your boy got away with rape. Plain and simple.

@crushliberalism @donald5 @WHO*IS*ESPN maybe sinc ethe COPS told her YEAR ago to NOT press the issue, you may want to rethink your "fact" checking. But where is the "race" comment? seems your kind only uses that as they have nothing else. fk U

@donald5@Mel@WHO*IS*ESPNThe accuser stated that she was so drunk that she had memory blackouts. Toxicology showed that the highest BAC at the time of the sex could have been no more than 1.0. That was lie #1 in her statement. Then she stated that someone must of put a drug in her drink. Toxicology showed no drugs. That was lie # 2. She then stated that she hit her head causing the memory blackouts. No bumps or bruises on her head. That was lie #3. She stated her attacker was between 5'9" and 5'11". Winston is 6'4". Lie #4. She said she was raped but showed no physical signs of being raped. Her clothes were not torn. she had no DNA of her attacker under her fingernails from trying to fight off her attacker. She refused to name who the second DNA evidence from her undies was from. How many lies and falsehoods must you be shown before you start to understand her story didn't add up. t was her lies that convinced both the police and the DA not to press charges against Winston. It was all in the SA's report that can be found online if you want to know the truth.

@donald5 So your theory is that everyone who gets accused is now guilty?  Nice logic.  Do some research on the Duke lacrosse team and Brian Banks.

@donald5@WHO*IS*ESPNUm...not only was Winston NOT convicted, but he wasn't even CHARGED. Turns out the chick changed her story a number of times.

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of displaying your ignorance, you racist fools.
