The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to interview New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Saturday, reports ESPN.com’s Chris Mortensen.

The Browns are seeking to replace replace Rob Chudzinski, who was fired after going 4-12 in his only season with the team.

McDaniels, 37, went 11-17 in two seasons as head coach with the Denver Broncos in 2009-10.

The team has not made the playoffs since the 2002 season and has not won more than five games since 2007.

The Browns are set to interview three other assistant coaches: Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase.

I would sincerely hope Josh was not stupid enough to step into this clubhouse! Certainly he is not that ignorant to know this franchise is a submarine with screen doors! He has a lot of talent, and his exit from Denver was not pretty, but certainly he is not so desperate to be a head coach again to step into this meat grinder where careers are killed by bad ownership!!

Whoever is hired here can count on being unemployed within a year or two because the ownership will not put up the money to build a winner, and have no patience to wait for a coach to try and get miracles from mediocre talent.

Let some desperate head coach wannabe have this one Josh! It is beneath you! Stick around New England. You have a much better shot replacing Bill when he eventually retires and have an owner who CARES about the franchise and will spend the money to get the proper talent on the squad! Bill's shoes will be hard to fill, but you have to at least step into a situation where you have a chance. Cleveland is the "purgatory" of the NFL with only one place to go from there, which is the Hell of Dallas!! lol
