Despite beating Champion Baptist College by 104 points on Monday, Southern University says they will schedule a matchup with Champion next season as well.

Southern routed Champion 116-12, setting an NCAA record in the process by scoring the first 44 points of the game. Champion missed 41 of their 44 field goal attempts in the game and turned the ball over 27 times.

The game next season will be third time the teams have met. Southern won a 2012 meeting with Champion 90-36.

“The two head coaches think it’s important to play because there was no intent to embarrass anyone,” Southern coach Roman Banks told ESPN.com. “We talked and we want to play to set the record straight and show people that there was no intent to hurt anyone or embarrass them. We both felt it was best to play again.”
