Report: Bobcats forward Jeffery Taylor out for season with ruptured Achilles
Charlotte small forward Jeffery Taylor will miss the rest of the season after he ruptured his right Achilles tendon, a source told Rick Bonnell of The News & Observer in Charlotte.
The second-year man, who was averaging 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds this season in 26 games (eight starts), suffered the injury in the Bobcats’ win in Detroit on Friday — Charlotte’s third win in a row.
Taylor became a starter when fellow second-year man Michael Kidd-Gilchrist broke his left hand on Dec. 3. He isn’t expected back until sometime next month. Anthony Tolliver and Chris Douglas-Roberts are expected to fill in at small forward in the meantime.
The Bobcats (13-14) play host to the Jazz on Saturday and enter the night with the fifth-best record in the Eastern Conference. They have made the playoffs only once in their 10-year history.
