New York Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes said he is willing to accept another pay cut to play next season with the team.

Holmes signed a five-year, $45.25 million contract in 2011, which contained $24 million in guaranteed money and was in line for $11 million payday this season before agreeing to reduce his salary to $7.5 million.

He is scheduled to make $8.25 million next season, plus another $1 million roster bonus, which is due in March.

“Anything for the team,” Holmes said via the New York Daily News. “Anything for the team.”

“I mean with the production comes big pay, so do your job,” he said.

Holmes, 30, has missed five games this season due to injury and in the nine games he has appeared in, he has only 18 receptions for 395 yards and a touchdown.  He is set to count $10.75 million against the 2014 salary cap.

“I mean I wouldn’t agree with it, because you can’t do anything about injuries that occur, first time I’ve been injured in my career, but like I said for the team, sacrifices are to be made,” Holmes said.

I mean, I would gladly, I mean, accept 7.5 million per year, I mean, to sit on the sideline and, I mean, cause trouble, I mean, in the locker room too, you know?

That's a lot of money for a player that hasn't had 1000 yards receiving since he became a Jet.
