Add Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio’s name to the list that have said they don’t have any interest in the vacant Texas job.

Dantonio, 57, has a 63-29 record in seven seasons in East Lansing and has the Spartans headed the Rose Bowl, where they will take on Stanford on Jan. 1.

Dantonio made $1.9 million this season and could be headed for a pay raise.

“I see Michigan State as a destination, not a stop,” Dantonio said, via MLive.com.  “Flattering, but that’s how I see it.”

Dantonio says he wants to keep his coaching staff intact, including defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, who won the the 2013 Broyles Award winner as the nation’s top assistant coach.  Narduzzi removed his name from Connecticut’s coaching search.

“It’s my hope to keep our entire staff together,” Dantonio said. “To have Coach Narduzzi remain here is a tremendous asset.”

You can make your millions where you are already comfortable.  Who needs the headache of the chaos down in Austin?  I would be hesitant to go where you don't really know who is in charge--it's like a shadow government.  Probably too dysfunctional for many of the big name candidates who tend to be control freaks.

Mrs Dantonio  may not feel MSU fans appreciate all they've done for spartan fans.  There's a saying down South rode hard and hung out wet.Longhorns aren't doing the riding in this one. Thanks for everything longhorns, keep up the good work , much appreciated.

Dantonio is a good man and a good coach. Texas needs a younger guy as 57 is too old to rebuild a program.

@NoQNoSuperBowlLook for lots of coaches to use Texas and then suddenly say they had a change of heart and are staying put--with a raise, of course.

@NoQNoSuperBowl  Jon Stewart of comedy central should be handling all the Texas job interviews Even Jose Canseco tweeted his interest in the Texas job.
