The two sides agreed to a multi-year deal on Friday that will keep Saban in Tuscaloosa after a week of speculation that the coach may be interested if the job were to open up at the University of Texas.
The length of the extension has yet to be made public, but TideSports.com has reported it will raise Saban’s salary to between $7 and $7.5 million a year. Saban made $5.4 million this season.
