Whether Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns to the field this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys likely depends on the results of a test he’ll have Friday morning on his healing left collarbone.

ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter reports that Rodgers will undergo a scan Friday morning on his collarbone, which he broke during the Packers’ Nov. 4 contest against the Chicago Bears. He hasn’t undergone a scan since Dec. 3, and that test did not show that he was ready to return to the field.

“I think there’s more to it than that,” Rodgers said Thursday, “but I would guess there would have to be another scan for me to be on the field.”

The Packers could sorely use their star quarterback’s return for the final three games of the season, during which they will be locked in a battle with the Bears and Detroit Lions for the NFC North division title. The 6-6-1 Packers are one game behind both the 7-6 Bears and Lions in the win column. The Packers will close out their season by playing the Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, and at Chicago in Week 17. The Packers reportedly considered shutting Rodgers down for the season if they fell out of playoff contention, but that has not happened.

Rodgers said that his return would also depend on another factor — whether or not he gets the majority of repetitions in Packers practice on Friday.

If you see his presser today, he had a hard time from smiling during some of the questions.  Quarless leaked out that he took first team reps in yesterdays practice.  They either are really going to extremes to get the Cowboys thinking he is playing or he is really going to play.
